Norman, what is the size of your bowl? The one shown on page 95 is large (about 9.5 inches), I think I have seen them in larger sizes too.
John.

Hi John
rather a small one at 20cm

Hi there
looks like a PAVEL PANEK made at LIBOCHOVICE to me i recently sold a massive green one on ebay which was 49cms in diameter (item number 370194489494 )
all the best

What a fantastic bowl you sold there Michelle, the bowls in this design that I have handled were made with surprisingly thin glass (to me anyway). Norman, is the glass in your bowl quite thin? It certainly has the right look, the pattern on yours does not look as compact or tight as the larger examples though.

considering the size mine was fairly thin glass too, although not waffer thin, weighed in at 5kgs. A real nightmare as i had to post it to australia from the UK  thankfully made it the in perfect condition and the guy has just another 3 pieces ;D..
all the best

this piece is rather thin...not fragile thin though.Has a tough looking feel to it.
-
I know what you mean about the tough 'feel'. I think I remember them making a 'dull' tone when tapped. I wonder if the production process or the composition of the glass for these bowls was 'non standard' to give the finished article more strength?
I would have worried about sending such a large one to Australia like Michelle did, respect.

i was absolutly terrified especially with what it sold for..but fortunitly im pretty handy with a bit of bubble wrap and touch wood have only lost one or two pieces over the last few years.. i had to use an almighty great box to pack it in. fortunitly the day before i had found a triple walled, flat screen TV box at my local tip in the recycling section, one mans rubbish and all that lol :chky:

Norman, there is a possibility that your bowl is Spanish.
I have just returned from an auction where I saw a large version of your bowl (probably about 24 inches or 60 cm in diameter) with an applied foot all in reddy orange glass with a pattern just like yours. There was a sticker on the base which read "Decorative glass - carefully clean by hand - made in Spain". The glass was quite thick (unlike the others I have handled) and the bowl was very heavy.
I did not have my camera with me, not sure what the auction house would have thought of me snapping photos if I did have it though.

olala...Spanish! good one spotting .hen u say u handled others ...which are...can u tell me what the underside should look like....this one has a broad inset rim.
many thanks

Norman I can not remember how the bases were finished and the Spanish one yesterday had a large foot stuck on it hiding any clues. Maybe Michelle has a photo of hers or hopefully can remember more than me.

Hi there i do still have a few photo's but im still having problems with uploading them on here, its fine as long as the camera has been put down to 1.2mp but unfortunitly i took these on the full 12mp which i cant get to upload on here. If you send me your email address i would be happy to email you a copy of them.
Somebody did try to explain how to do it but i really am useless with these things, i just take the picture from a distance ON 1.2MP, then crop it and thats the only way ive managed to get them onto GMB

Michelle, feel free to email me copies and I'll optimise them down for you and add them back to the board. :)

HI Anne John and Michelle
a big thank u to all for this valuable look see...i am in the mountains for a few days so donot have access to my piece but will take a look when i am in the city.i did notice a scratch mark(in the glass) on the base but then i guess that would not appear on all pieces.
once again many tks all

Further to John's (glassobsessed's) observation about a Spanish label I have just found these two listings :
A green bowl on eBay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Glass-Bowl-Spanish-Recycled-/382243982439?hash=item58ff844c67:g:p8cAAOSwQXZZyPjU
and a blue bowl on an ETSY site
https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/476262747/spanish-recycled-glass-fruit-bowl?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=glass%20fruit%20bowl&ref=sr_gallery_21
In each case, the bowl carries a "Made in Spain/Recycled Glass" label.
