Title: Iridescent vase with gold inclusions, signed
Post by: NMott on October 17, 2012, 11:58:03 AM
Heavy blown glass bottle vase, with surface iridescence and gold inclusions.
19cm high, 14cm wide
Signed on base but very difficult to read - looks like someone's gone over it with sandpaper. Not sure if it's one word or two, but I think it ends in a date.

Looking at it again, I think it says Strombergshyttan, (followed by a couple of letters and four numbers),
Did Stromberg ever make decanters, etc, with gold/mica inclusions?

I don't think that it reads Strömbergshyttan.
And I can't imagine that any better Scandi piece would have this sort of base finish.
Sorry, can't be of more help...

I think someone's tried sanding the base and mucked up the finish, hence the difficulty reading the inscription.
