Glass / Art Deco? Green Pressed Glass Vase
« Last post by Birkyc on Today at 06:00:49 PM »
Can anyone help with ID for this vase please? I have exhausted all of my resources without success.

Square in form, tapering down to base, pressed glass, ribbed design, ground base.

21cm tall, 6cm square rim, 7cm square base, thick heavy glass, weighs 574g.

Art deco possibly? Czech/ Bohemian?

Has a dull glow under Ultra Violet, probably Manganese rather than Uranium.

Any help appreciated.
Thank you.

Remember I know nothing about older glass, but this tumbler does remind me a bit, in overall internal shape  (thick walled and with a very thick base with the shaped hollow extending into the base), of taller and slimmer contemporary tumblers for iced tea or coffee.
They turned up as donations when I worked in Oxfam.
I think the glass itself was perhaps a little on the yellow side. The overall feel was of old fashioned ice cream parlour glassware.

It's not a hyacinth vase; there is insufficient room for the roots and it's tiny. The top is too wide for crocuses

Glass / Unusual Cranberry & Opalescent Bucket Handled Vase???
« Last post by LEGSY on Today at 11:09:15 AM »
Wondered what folks would think of this piece of glass it is in the form of
a bucket with handles and raised coopered like metal straps as you might
see around the body of a whisky barrel even has vertical fluting which looks
like the staves on the barrels. Thinking it maybe Victorian or early
20th century in date but not to sure it measures 13.5 cm tall and maybe an
ice bucket??
