Title: VSL large cut bowl: Amethyst/citrine uranium (anyone have pattern name?)
Post by: mrvaselineglass on May 17, 2012, 11:27:34 AM
I just got this big bowl yesterday.  It is a Val St. Lambert bowl.  Outer is amethyst, inner is a citrine/uranium color.  There is also an interesting cutting on the bottom ring.  The bowl is 9 inches in diameter, 4 1/2 inches tall, bottom diameter is 5.25 inches.  It weighs 3.8 pounds!

Does anyone have any VSL references that show pattern names?

Dave, the closest match to the upper cutting is VSL 1904/1905 Rhine wine Römer VERDI
I did not find a bowl in this shape, I'm afraid.

I noticed this thread was still, sort of, open ...

If it is the first piece that is on your site under VSL, then it is actually a vase, model 'Nordique' S/383 design Joseph Simon for the Fantasy Crystal catalogue of 1926. I've added the image from the catalogue.
