Hi guys
i recently posted (2-3😆weeks) ago help regarding a hand engraved glass from a set used at the city of london guild hall reception for the king and queen of italy c1900, its in perfect condition but was nearly destroyed with help from my 3yo so im reluctently going to sell
i have no experiance in selling such an item so wondering should i take it to a local auction ,specialist,auction,ebay or dealer any advice will be most welcome

one possible suggestion that might help............... Fielding's Auctioneers - Mill Race Lane, Stourbridge (Midlands area in England).............. are known to specialize in glass (believe they do have at least one glass only auction per year, and maybe more).
Details will be on the internet............ give them a call or send an email with pictures of your glass - am sure they will be happy to give advice.
Other outlets for selling i.e. boot sales, local auctions, general antiques dealers ......... could prove less than reliable or lack sufficiently wide public arena. :)

i dont want to sell to be honest but as it was nearly broken has to go so thankyou for the info will contact them and see what they think, i doubt much value just ashame if its broken :'(

Can't you just put it safely out of reach?
Or is your 3-year-old a potential base-jumper?
There is stuff called Museum Gel, it can be used to "stick" something to a shelf so it doesn't get knocked over.
It's not really sticky, it's just sort of rubbery.

i will look into that sounds useful stuff to have i do have a locked cabinate thats full of paperweights and related stuff so anything delicate might get chipped- regards my youngest she thinks the home is just a playground and shes batman :-\
The gel is it a high street product or will i need a specialist shop

I did an internet search; it's available all sorts of places, several on a well-known auction site.
It's entirely up to you to decide where you'd prefer to buy it from. ;)
There are certain internet sites I won't use or advertise, as a matter of principle. 8)
