Title: Vase with 3 applied rigaree butresses
Post by: redheat4 on April 20, 2006, 08:45:01 AM
Hi can anyone help me with this little vase, 9.5cm high, the foot and body have been made in one i.e. the foot has been folded up on itself and drawn up to the ribbed body, there is quite a bit of age wear to the foot. The pontil appears to have been attached at 4 points via glass rods?

Hmm...it doesn't look like pressed glass to me.  :?  I'd say possibly German with a Venetian influence.  Only a stab in the dark though.

As Max observes, this does not look pressed to me either. Italian maybe, but post-war Czech pressed is unlikely, and does not feel like pre-war Czech either......
Of course I may be wrong, so what's new.

Regards,

Marcus

I'd guess hand made Italian or Spanish, but defo not pressed in any way.
