Been a while, it's getting harder to find anything new, this one is quite plain, shape and colour but is a bit of a monster at 12.25 inches tall ;D ;D
-
Not quite big enough for umbrellas or walking sticks.
But it's the right sort of shape for carrying on your head.
It would be a very good statement vase for a spectacular and important flower arrangement.
Simple and elegant, not fighting with the arrangement but underlining it.
-
The glass is quite thin so have to be careful of putting anything in it ::) Flowers ? not in my precious RBS, that's what ceramics are for ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Lined with white, water marks wouldn't show any more than they would in a ceramic. ;D
I do permit glass flowers indoors.
-
My only glass flowers..... ;D ;D ;D
-
Not a chance. ;) ;) ;)
-
Just by Chance there are only two now, oops, butter fingers ::) ;D ;D
-
Replacment snowdrop added to my mental list of things to look out for... ;)
-
quote from Keith ...............…. "it's getting harder to find anything new" …… I'm just surprised he hasn't already got them all. 93rd shelf now is it Keith ;D
Only kidding - I'm always in awe of your skill and prowess at being such a completist when it comes to collecting - you really aught to knock out a booklet or similar to commit to posterity - and us - how diverse your collection is. I'll start the ball rolling - will send you a seven and six pence postal order ;D ;D ;D
-
Did think about a book but after a lot of research I thought maybe a booklet now a couple of postage stamps, plenty of pictures but not much else ;D ;D
-
Images are what folk want to see. :)
-
Free samples of glass too ;)
-
I suppose a pictorial guide to RBy Studio might be a thought ;D ;D ;D
-
seriously Keith, think you would be making a great contribution to the world of glass with a pictorial guide with brief captions - tis indeed the image that's the most important aspect when trying to make an id.
An example of how modern quality images have transformed another academic area, is the world of natural history …. 80 - 90 years or more ago, researchers had to rely on text only, and had to use 'keys' when attempting an id for certain species …………
'if it has three pairs of legs, go to No. 5 in the key list
so you go to No. 5 ………….. 'does it have hairs on top and bottom, then go to No. 12 and so on, and half an hour later you still weren't entirely sure what you'd got.
but now we have such good pix, no need for all that key stuff.
and you can say you've been published ;D
-
Worth a try one day, have had an article published in a magazine, ahem ! blowing of trumpets etc... ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D
