Title: Signed Orrefors Cased Pitcher...
Post by: Pinkspoons on March 27, 2007, 04:34:53 PM
It's a big (39cm tall) and ugly lump o' glass that I got in a massive joblot of Scandi glass that I'll be pestering the board about over the next day or two (just one or two quirky-but-unidentified suncatchers).

Pitcher (http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b108/pinkspoons/1-11.jpg)
Etched Signature (http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b108/pinkspoons/3-9.jpg)

I've no clue when it comes to Orrefors - not even slightly - and I've found a couple of these pitchers on eBay in much nicer colours, but no additional information.

So any clue on designer / production era?

As ever, thanks in advance.

Nic,

That's same mark as the big yellow Orrefors vase I have, see:

I still haven't got anywhere with that  ???

I much prefer your vase. Want to swap?  ;D

I have the same label as your vase on an 'Eternell' candleholder by Owe Elvéns (my only other piece of Orrefors). If anyone knows when that was made it may help put a rough date on the other pieces...?

Andy McConnell says the black labels (and burgundy ones) are 1960-1998. So doesn't cut the date down much ;D

Hej Nic.
Your pitcher is called Salsa and first came into production in 1995. Designer is Helén Krantz. At that time they were in green, blue or white. Later the pitchers were produced in other colours.

Robbo, your vase is called Solo, launched in 1995. A series of 5 vases, two of which had the same shape as yours. Designer Erika Lagerbielke.

Thanks for that, Aine - amazing, as ever. I'd spotted them in blue and white, and they're much much nicer colours than this horrible minty bathroom green.

By the way, have you received any of my emails over the last few weeks? I've been having a few problems with sending/receiving still - so please don't think I've been ignoring you if you've sent me any without response!

Hej Nic,
Received one and sent translations twice. Haven't heard from you.. thought you were miffed by the queries I had sent, even to me they seemed a bit daft. But better to ask than give the wrong info.  :)
