Title: Roman Glass?
Post by: str8gal on December 13, 2015, 05:42:18 PM
I bought this vase for  $25 some years ago. I've never seen glass like this.  It is a thick leaded glass and very oxidized. There are no maker's marks. Any help would be great.

Hello and welcome to the board. I've deleted your duplicate topic, as we ask you to post all ID requests into Glass initially, unless the item is known to be from a certain country or region. A moderator will move it as and when necessary after that.

This is probably a vase by Lafiore from Mallorca but we need to see the bottom before we can attribute it with any degree of certainty.

With a bottom finish like this I'm more inclined to think Chinese. In Spanish glass the pontil mark should be coursely ground out on a small surface. No guarantees, of course.

Could also be a Cozeta from Murano.
