Here is the first in a couple of id requests. This amber square scavo, I think, has been in the collection for about 15 years, with no attribution. Any thoughts and/or suggestions are most welcome. It is about 10 inches tall. The number you see is our reference number in the collection.
Thanks ahead of time
Jack

Some explanation and documentation needed here so we can follow your thoughts, jp. :)

Just a bit of further into on it. We bought it from a German dealer, in Germany, and paid $75 including shipping.

It reminds me more of the Cenedese pieces that I've seen, except that those are usually signed. I haven't seen any Barovier like this so I'd have the same question as Anita.

P.S. On thinking about it, why not Seguso V d'A? The Cenedese scavo pieces tend to have those dirty blackish patches, whereas Seguso were purer colour--and unsigned generally.

It was that i saw a very similar piece in an antique shop in Todi Perugia that sells a lot of Italian glass and they had it as probably Barovier ,thats the shop Where Signor Berlesconi beat me to a nice vase . But of course they may be wrong i find even the "experts" can be wrong , if there is such an animal . ::) If any of you go to Todi the shop is just behind the main Church in the old town square you cant miss it , its well worth a look .jp
