Title: Can anyone identify this huge Stuart vase pattern designer?
Post by: allan_666 on October 17, 2020, 06:05:54 PM
Does anyone know this huge Stuart vase any info would be appreciated. 27cm tall 17cm wide and weighs over3.5kg. Signature dates from 1920’s to 50’s very deep cut spiral pattern. Glass is very thick about 1/2” .Pics were very clear but because I had to reduce and put in file they are blurred

I'm afraid I cannot find this pattern illustrated in Nigel Benson's "Art Deco to Post Modernism."

Can I assume the cut is just in a spiral around the vase - and that all the extra busy bits I can see are just reflections?

After talking to Nigel and Ross they seem to think it's a special 'one off' piece, the dates 1928-38.

Thanks that sounds good I suspected it maybe a one off and around the deco period . I got the bowl at the same time off the same person weighs a ton about 6kg it may also be a one off do you think ? Both are in amazing condition .Thank you so much and convey my thanks to Nigel and Ross.
