Post by: Sklounion on May 16, 2006, 05:02:18 AM
Hi all,
Please, does the name Olands-hyttan mean anything to anyone?
Etikett of red windmill.
TIA,
Marcus

Olands is an island in the Baltic Sea. It is part of Sweden.
Hyttan means glass studio or works.

This small glass works was owned by Orrefors Crystal Group in the 1980s' and it was where they made the Brandy glasses designed by
Edward Hald.

I have not heard of them lately.

I should have posted this about 2 weeks ago!   Marcus alerted me to this lampbase by Olands Hyttan, cheers!  Maybe the label gives some indication to date? Edit:  Measures 5" glass height

I'm not entirely sure I like it   it's reminiscent of a Bohemian or Chinese paperweight to me, but I'm going to get a new lightbulb holder thingy and flex as it's the wrong voltage (two pin plug) at the moment.  Then it'll go in my office.   :D  :D
