Title: Poli Canoli
Post by: horochar on September 09, 2007, 06:32:36 PM
This is a huge canoli-shaped bowl.  (Yum yum!)  Although it is solid color and not sommerso, I have been told that it was designed by Flavio Poli.  I'd love to know if this is true or false.
Thanks,
Charles.

Drum roll please....
Yes, it is a Poli.  A dealer friend has the same piece with the blue S.V.C.C. label (Poli's short-lived post-Seguso venture).  In doing a search on this website, I see that there are no posts on S.V.C.C., which is too bad because for some reason I keep coming across it.  Might be a good topic for discussion.  Here are three pieces that I own.  Everything in this series seems to be monumental!  (The two in the background are 11 1/2 and 8 inches tall).
Thanks,
Charles.

I have seen the bowl in amber as well.  I don't have the Seguso VA book, which is out of print (supposed to have come out in 2nd edition in 2006, but apparently didn't).  Anyone know if it pictures any SVCC?  Has there been any discussion of someone coming out with a Flavio Poli monograph anytime soon?
