Title: Joseph Webb sugar basin pattern 8018
Post by: neilh on April 14, 2024, 08:03:23 PM
This unregistered piece can be identified from pattern sheets in the Pottery Gazette in the late 1880s, which show some Joseph Webb designs being transferred to Edward Moore.
This one is shown with a lid, and numbered pattern 8018.

My example is heavy and very well made, density 3.1g/cc

I would date this pattern to before 1870.

Really elegant!  how did the lid fit into the serrated rim?
