I Just come across a dark blue slag malachite version of this tobacco jar with no lid in an antique shop but too expensive as it was incomplete, see first thread. Fairly sure it’s from the North East, but possible one of the smaller manufacturers perhaps Heppell or Moore. I’m still looking for one with a lid.

According to Angela Bowey's Bagley book they were made between 1936 and the early 1950's. I can't remember seeing any Bagley glass in that colour.

Twelve pages of tumblers in that catalogue, that is a huge number of designs being offered in a single year. They must have been good sellers.

I need to have a close look at this tumbler again, it is not here with me so will have to wait until later. Somewhere I have a couple of very thin tumblers too, will dig them out for contrast.

Iced tea !!,I’ve been pondering on those type of glasses for ages Sue and i’ve picked up a few interesting examples in the past.I wonder if also the reverse maybe true aswell ??,thicker glass for hot drinks?,John’s glass looks antique .

Glass / Scailmont Vase?

Help with identification of this vase would be appreciated.

Whilst searching for an attribution I came across several images of Scailmont vases with very similar appearance in terms of the colour palette and deliberate pattern / design in the spatter, though not one in this shape..

I would be grateful for some opinions, is this a Scailmont vase?

There are no markings.

The vase is 33cm tall, 9.3cm diameter rim, 9.5cm diameter base, maximum diameter 16cm, weighs 1.5kg

The ground rim is also bevelled.
