Post by: yesvil on April 21, 2010, 03:39:11 PM
I know I have seen this or something like it before somewhere, I'm not even sure if it is complete. What say you?

Thank you for that everyone. I have found some examples of Erik Hoglund similar to this one shown without any stopper - is it always the case that it would have one?

Designed by Erik Hoglund probably late fifties.

May not have started life with a stopper, if the neck hasn't been ground for a stopper to fit then my guess is it never had one. The few I have seen with stoppers didn't have boobs but this is far from definitive. ::)

The inside of the neck is very smooth so this may be how it is which would be good - do they have any value?

Nice quirky bit of Hoglund - everything has a value to someone. ;D

How tall is yours?

John

Hi John - sorry, not wanting to sound too money minded I just wondering if my £5.00 stake was justified.

This one stands about 125 mm tall.

I think you had a bargain.

You have probably noticed by now people tend not to give valuations here, they are subjective, prices often vary wildly with fashion let alone the weather. Last year a particular Sklo Union vase was featured in a 'Home' magazine. They had fetched five pounds or less on ebay for the previous couple of years, for a week or two they sold for twenty five pounds or more, then the prices settled back down again. The value is what you can get for it, that depends on too many factors and I have nothing to judge it on apart from what I paid for one recently at a flea market, so not much to go on. :-X

If it was a different size I'd be interested. ;D

John

Edit: The one I have here (same size) is signed H878 it doesn't have the / and 158 (that's what it looks like), no idea what the extra numbers signify.
