Hi everybody :chky:
Finally we were ready to go tonight - some first catalogues on www.glas-musterbuch.de or follow the link under www.pressglas-pavillon.de in the upper right frame.
Enjoy!

I sincerely hope it will get a bestseller although free of charge 8)
-
Wow, thank you, well done :hiclp: :hiclp:
-
Pamela, hyacinth vases!!!!!!! THANKS
Patricia
-
Pamela, I have not used your site before now because until recently I was only on a slow modem connection and could not easily view anything with many images. This is the first time I have tried your pages again since I became "broadbanded".
Excellent work. I will have to take a look at the rest of the site soon.
-
WOW! THANK YOU - especially for the Rindskopf catalog - outstanding work! :hiclp:
-
Woohoo! thank you Pamela, and well done with getting the site sorted.
-
Kev, make sure you look at Pamela's video...
-
Well done Pamela  superb!!
-
Anne and Frank: thank you again for your assistance last year, which made it obvious that it would not work with Strato as host! Still I feel, I more or less have stolen your time for nothing :hb2: - my apologies!
-
Nothing to apologise for at all Pamela, just glad to help when we can. 8)
-
Das sieht ja ganz gut aus! Well done. Was bedeutet "Guill."? Needle etching?
Thanks for the link!
-
guill:
Yes, I think so - guillochieren - Guilloche is needle etching.
Right, Ivo, please?
-
Well done Pamela, and thank you: a great gesture  :)
-
Hallo,
Stephan
-
Pamela,
I loved your video, i dont speak German, but the beauty of all the glass speaks for itself :D
A wonderful Collection and Website . Fantastic work.
Congratulations!
Regards
Andy
-
Pamela, these are just wonderful!!!
hours of innocent pleasure in store for us all now.... :hiclp:
-
Theresienthaler Stephan:
Thank you for a good discussion on the phone right now!
We are working on the site - it will grow and more information will be added!
;D
-
A big thank you for your kind generosity Pamela  :hiclp:
-
Brockwitz 1936 uploaded :comp: enjoy!
-
Pamela, I am so enjoying these catalogues, thank you! Can I ask for two lines to be translated please?
Both have gone through the online translator but the result doesn't make sense, so I've typed them out to ask here:
höheren Unterteil geliefert werden (Freetran gives higher lower part delivered become whilst Google translator gives Higher body be delivered (this for an alternative powder bowl so presumably two heights available?)
Nur in hell lieferbar! (Freetran gives Only in brightly available! whilst Google translator gives Only in Hell! ::) I'm guessing this means only available in clear glass, or only available in Carnival glass? If someone could clarify I'd be most grateful, thank you. 8)
-
Hi Anne,
höheren = higher
Unterteil = lower part, base
kann geliefert werden - is also available
I do not know, to which page exactly you refer, but it must be something like a two part centrepiece? Sometimes the base could also serve, upside down, as vase.
hell: You are right: it means clear white, Brockwitz did not supply coloured pseudo-cut crystal, but they offered it with yellow accents (gelb eingebr.) eingebrannt - see pages 1 and 2.
:)
-
Anne, still did not find the page you are referring to, but read your post more thoroughly :)
They offered 'Puderdosen' - powder bowls or boxes and they offered something we do not know today:
Pasta-dosen - teethcleaning powder
is it this what you wanted to know?
-
Pamela, thank you. The higher lower bit was in respect of a powder pot (puderdosen) which is why I wondered if it meant two heights of pot but with the same size/shape lid.
Pasta-dosen - tooth powder - ahhh good, thank you. The English in the catalogue says pomade pot which I had assumed referred to hair pomade.
The hell again was in the trinket sets - it gives four colours on most (rosé, seegrün, luftblau, goldgelb which I'd translated as pink, green, blue, amber - would that be correct?) and the hell for others which I was thinking was probably clear (colourless) glass - but did wonder if it could refer to Carnival being fiery!
-
I'm in love with the Hoffmann elephants...
-
Now uploaded Walther 1933 :comp: ;D
-
:kissy: Thank you very, very much! You are a treasure!
-
Ohh crumbs, no work for me tonight then! :o Seriously, thanks Pamela these are just fascinating.
-
I haven't dare look since the last time, too interesting... :-[
-
Radeberg 1890 and Brockwitz 1921 are now online - please hold on: I forgot the copyrights of the owners - but you may look already :chky:
-
You're spoiling us Pamela! :) Thank you so much again. I'm loving these.
-
Walther 1904 and Brockwitz 1926 uploaded - THANK YOU Dieter Mauerhoff for these treasures! :chky:  :comp: we shall continue :D
-
yes Yes YES! Please Pamela.
-
Brockwitz 1931 uploaded - enjoy :comp: ;D
-
Hi everybody :chky:
Finally we were ready to go tonight - some first catalogues on www.glas-musterbuch.de or follow the link under www.pressglas-pavillon.de in the upper right frame.
Enjoy!
Pamela, Thanks for posting this!
-
What a fabulous site, Pamela...an amazing reference in so many ways.
Anne, to me it sounds like you're right - there's a taller pot available. "Hell" is one of those confusing context-dependent words. You can have "hell blau" for pale blue or "hell" alone for colorless, nevermind all its other meanings. I noticed that Brockwitz calls their glass literally "crystal white."
The cover of the earliest Walther catalog is itself a work of art!
-
Pamela, thank you for another fascinating read-through. :)
Kristi, thanks for the info on "hell", much appreciated. :)
-
Josephinenhütte 1925 (crystall glass) and some matching post cards uploaded
-
Crikey, Pamela, I'm amazed at the number of perfume atomisers in this catalogue. Fantastic, and thank you for uploading this one.
-
uploaded:
ValSaintLambert - Les Signatures Officielles
Streit 1934
Baccarat 1916 - two catalogues: Services de Table et Garnitures de Toilette
Please enjoy and also tell me if you find something I did not so far! Thank you! ;D
-
Pamela, you are WUNDERBAR!! ( i hope thats right! )
-
Thank you, Sue, correctly spelled and appreciated :D
-
uploaded 5 of Josephinenhütte
Plötz 1900 - my favourite BTW in this new collection edited
Vallérysthal 1908
Lange 50ies - have to have a look myself ;o))
-
Much appreciated Pamela. I have identified a Brockwitz creamer (1936 tafel 047) pattern no 3260, a Brockwitz Seigfried cheese dome (round) and a Fenne Vine leaf plate (1150, tafel 111) all at my house in uranium. I also have a possible ID of a Bamberg Barock set, but I need to get it down from on top of the wardrobe ;D
-
What a treasure trove! Thank you!   :hiclp: :hiclp: :hiclp:
-
Uploaded the oldest catalogues found of Brockwitz so far: 1914/15 plus some older photographs - one of which proudly showing the IMPERAT mould in 1910.
PLEASE - if anyone comes across an older catalogue of this hut, DROP US A LINE!! Thank you!
...and as I always do wish: ENJOY!
-
VEB Sachsenglas 1965 (formerly Walther) and more of Josephinenhütte (240 pages) uploaded
-
I want to go read these now, but have to work... I'll be back later, but thank you again Pamela. I just love looking through your catalogues.
-
PREMIÈRE:
Walther Ottendorf-Okrilla 1937 uploaded - up to now PK-readers only knew Walther Radeberg works featuring lamp shades.
A lot to do on pressglas-pavillon now also :chky:
-
Fantastic Site Pamela  thankyou so much. Certainly plenty to look through there when I'm stumped on an ID.
-
I spent a long time looking last night and managed to ID three different bits of unknown, all Walther (Nora, Munster and Greta)  Thank you Pamela. BTW your exhibition looks fabulous :hiclp: :hiclp:
-
Brockwitz 1941 - their last catalogue and last year (as far as I know) now edited - please enjoy and happy hunting! :chky:
-
... joining the chorus with all my heart !!!
thanks a million for your stunning site and
your most appreciated personal help!

NEW and old at the same time ;)

Lausitzer Glas 1969 78 S.
Ankerglas 1937/38 92 S.
Josephinenh. 1920 Artikel 8 S.
STS Abel 1936 177 S.
Krug & Mundt 183 S.
enjoy and happy hunting! Corresponding finds on MY pavillon pages highly appreciated - thank you!
S. = pages
-
Wonderful Pamela, thank you. :hiclp:
I especially enjoyed the Krug & Mundt one... this is a glassmaker I've never heard of before, yet the range of things they did it amazing. What a superb range of steins, and I spotted rummers which my son will be interested in seeing as he collects them, and it's the first catalogue I've seen aquarien and fischgläser in too I think.
-
I haven't done that one yet, but I have looked at Ankerglas. What's a Ziehzunder (page 27 onwards)? I know its part of a smoker's set and has a cigar rest but I couldn't make sense of the top part. The funny little chop dishes amuse me and when I get to the uringlas, I know I'm nearly at the end ;D
-
A ziehzünder seems to be an obsolete way of dispensing safety matches - there's a photo here of the matches that would sit in the ziehzünder (I'm assuming the top part of the stand comes off so the matches can be secured):
http://www.zuendholzetiketten.de/
Edit: Actually - if you look carefully at the Ankerglas illustrations you can see a little frill of paper matches poking from under the stand's top section.
-
Thanks Nic, I kind of wondered about the frill, but my brain couldn't make sense of it although I'd translated zunder to tinder
-
Anne: Krug & Mundt were wholesalers in Leipzig, obviously not only offered German glass but French at least too!
Christine and Nic: I take it that Ziehzünder is lighting a NON-safety-match; ziehen is draw. Draw an old-fashioned match (not Sweden's NOBEL safety matches, which led to Schweden-Halter like this: http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/misc/05722.html the striking area is open) - across the textured rim...
Guess, we are too young for that, only the Italians had the last 'CERINI' - waxed matches that would strike nearly everywhere ;D
-
Fabulous resource Pamela
I've fallen in love with vases shown in the Josephinenhutte 1957 catalogue - nos.19 and 20
-
awe struck, :chky:
To see the knowledge used and gathered for such a piece of work, beautiful. :hiclp:
-
Ahhhhhhh right Pamela, I didn't realise that. :-[ Thank you. :)
-
Nic: great :hiclp: now also I do know what a Ziehzünder is: of course you are right! Picture # 603 shows matches to be pulled downwards for striking! Which for me only leaves the question: WHAT was inside the glass channels - I must take it that it was rough and only could 'incend' NON-safety matches - but safe anyhow :D thank you :-*
-
I assumed that the matches were the self-lighting sort, as with the books of matches you get in bars and restaurants (or did get, until they banned smoking in public places), and that the shape of the glass was merely decorative. I'm probably wrong, of course.
-
I assume the ridges were for striking the matches on
-
Anne E B : thank you for your input and I wish you'll find one of these for your collection! a really sophisticated design!
-
uploaded: :)
further pages of VSL Luxval 1935 (my own copies), and

-
Ooohhhhh Pamela, thank you, more goodies to look through. :fwr:
I wonder if I might find my mystery blue powder bowl (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,25774.0.html) in either of them... it's defeated me so far everywhere else. :o
-
Great site and collection :)
ps. I'm sorry to say that item told to be Erkkitapio Siiroinen's Barokki, is not that.
http://www.laatutavara.com/images/1574.jpg
-
Which item do you mean isn't Barokki please? (Just so we know where to look to amend things. ;))
-
Hi Pamela,
It would be good to see your website promoted in our Glass Reference Websites forum.
Would you like to put a link and some information there?
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/board,32.0.html
Congratulations on a highly successful website.
-
Hi,
This one is not Barokki :)
http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/tafelaufsaetze/04875.html
Tanja
-
Angela: Thank you, will be done :kissy:
Tanja: Thanks for your info - if you know better, please would you tell us what it is then? Where are you situated please?
Regarding 'my' Barokki I might recall that Della helped us out of this unknown glass by sharing a Finnish web page identifying it as Barokki.
May we take it that the green ones with half pearls pictured by you are the REAL barokki? Maker? Designer? when and where?
-
Those bumpy green ones are interesting as I have a mystery powder pot in a bright blue with the same bumps.
-
Hi Pamela,
Tanja is correct, I believe. Please see this page: http://www.vaarinvarasto.com/puristelasi.php Image 7167, unnamed bowl, thought to be Riihimaen Lasi.
Della (still ever learning ;) )
x
-
Tanja and Della, thank you - we have to negotiate the barokki again i'm afraid.
coffeepot 259 attracted my eyes - what is it, please?
-
I'm sorry but I don't know the name of designer for the bowl.
All I know that it isn't Erkkitapio Siiroinen's Barokki for Riihimäen Lasi in the 70's.
Barokki was made at least in green, clear, yellow, blue and purple
-
oops. I do not want to sound impolite, but personally I am very, very sorry to find wrong attributions, especially if they should have been noted and known to be wrong long time ago.
Generally, I cannot describe how much I appreciate people who spend so much time and effort in distributing their knowledge and pictures of their beautiful collections but on the other hand they should always think of their responsibility too. The pictures and information attached go around the world and there are people who tend to believe what they see.
Like mentioned above, this is not Barokki of Siiroinen. http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/tafelaufsaetze/04875.html (http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/tafelaufsaetze/04875.html) Do you think it is the pointer's duty to find what it is before the attribution is corrected, or?
PS. spreading the "word" may end up in more and more. Don't know which one was first tho' http://www.glaskilian.de/Grosse-Fussschale-BAROKKI-Entw.517+B6YmFja1BJRD01MTcmcHJvZHVjdElEPTQ4MDEmcGlkX3Byb2R1Y3Q9NTE3JmRldGFpbD0_.0.html (http://www.glaskilian.de/Grosse-Fussschale-BAROKKI-Entw.517+B6YmFja1BJRD01MTcmcHJvZHVjdElEPTQ4MDEmcGlkX3Byb2R1Y3Q9NTE3JmRldGFpbD0_.0.html)
-
Absolutely great Pamela, thank you.
Please not that Steinschönau is in Czech Kamenicky Senov, not Kamenicki....
Anyway super

regarding BAROKKI : information originated from www.old-items.com - unfortunately pages have vanished :wsh:
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,4578.0.html
:thud:
Kamenicky : Thank you, Jindrich, shall correct that :sm:
-
Px, I think you made your point in your first post. The second one was unnecessary and in my opinion somewhat rude to Pamela, and has as such been deleted.
-
Not necessarly, Pamela, why not write Berlyn instead of Berlin :-)
Jindrich

-
Anne, thank you for letting me (and everyone else) know. :)
I personally feel the point of attribution's reliability and spreading only correct information in general is very important and certainly cannot see anything rude in taking up this example as it as such was a good one. This is a global forum and for many of us this is only about glass, nothing personal.
In case you feel it is okay to leave this thread as it is (i.e. with your above message included) although future readers do not have the possibility to evaluate themselves if I really was rude or not, I don't mind. For me this is about glass.
PS. Really sorry, Pamela, if I hurt your feelings, nothing personal. I still feel I had a point. :)
-
All the senior members of the GMB encourage rigorous proof when giving attributions, and in most circumstances hearsay, eBay attributions and guesswork based on 'feel' are not acceptable as an absolute attribution.
However, even the most careful will occasionally make a mistake. When this happens, it's important to point this out, but rest assured that this is an issue the most people on the GMB do take very seriously.
-
Hello Pamela
I just posted a vase where I´m telling that I think found the model on one of you Glas-musterbuch pages. Is it allowed from your side and from the side of the Glassmessages to put an picture of that pattern. Snipping tool for example
One can set a link.. for sure, but with an picture you have both fotos one by one beside.

If you do not own the image yourself then you cannot post it on the board, it would breach our rules on copyright abuse and would be removed by a moderator. Links are fine and welcome.
