Glass / Re: Lauscha lamp work lantern with drunken man in uranium

Honestly I can't see any similarities between the figure you point out on ebay and yours, apart from the design idea of making a lamppost with a man underneath it.

Is yours heavy for size or extremely light lampwork?  Just curious to know.

Yours also has opalescent buttons up his jacket.  Perhaps an opalescent right hand?

I've found a link to one of the catalogues I was thinking of for Zelezny Brod Sklo but couldn't see it in that one.  Link here as it will show you some of the range of different figurine items and the differences in how they were made.

https://www.glas-musterbuch.de/Glassexport-Zelezny-Brod-1955.153.0.html

I'm sure there were two catalogues but I don't have time to try and find the other at the moment. Will look later.

Ok the other one I was thinking of is here - quick post, I've not checked it:

Thanks M no need to be sorry as the reason I’m sharing is to learn more on lampwork, I found this on eBay with a similar lantern but obviously different figure
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256409303450?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=JAFFfnZFRGu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=q5-LqyteS5q&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I do see more similarities though with Jaroslav Brychta so that’s a whole new direction for me. Until recently I new nothing on lampwork glass I thought Pirelli was tyre manufacturer😃rather than a glass maker. Thanks Mike

Still not found similar figures in uranium though?

Size? Your photos don't show the feet well and the base not at all.

Hi there. Does anyone recognise / know the maker of this rather unusual piece? Any help greatly appreciated.

Possibly a spanner in the works and it's a very long time since I was researching some lampwork figures but I wonder if Jaroslav Brychta made some figures like this.  I could be completely wrong and unfortunately I cannot for the life of me remember where the catalogues are to have a look - so sorry.

Glass / Black glass enamelled ginger jar
« Last post by Franlow on April 23, 2024, 07:29:19 PM »
Hi Guys,
Can anyone identify this for me please. This is the lid of a black matt glass floral enamelled (or painted) ginger jar. I am really hoping top replace this for a really dear friend of mine. It was purchased 35 years ago by her children & she recently broke the base into too many pieces for it to be fixed. She is so upset it was her most treasured possession because of the story. This is the lid. Thanks for any help xx

Some more colours all with the lozenge, all with uranium but the top right doesn’t glow as bright.
