Title: This does not look like a St Louis to me
Post by: RescoCCC on June 15, 2014, 10:55:24 PM
To me it looks like a Murano with a bogus signature scratched in to the base. What do you guys think?

Well, at least the seller revised after I contacted him and added a question mark to the title and a disclaimer in the listing. He also dropped the opening bid to $9.99, so it's likely nobody will get hurt.

Hi.

I think the question mark is still disingenuous, to put it politely, when the item is a fake.

I agree. But sometimes I think that's the best I can hope for when I contact these sellers. This one just ignored me when I told him his "Clichy" is Chinese:

The original item discussed has now vanished: not ended by the seller, but removed from the eBay database, so I guess eBay pulled it.  Maybe a few people (perhaps even Saint-Louis themselves) told eBay it was a potentially fraudulent listing?

I reported the seller. I always give them a chance to correct the listing, and if they don't I hit the report link. Sometimes eBay takes action, sometimes they don't. I think it depends on the knowledge level of the person receiving the report.
