I am just back from the flea market with this unusual little beauty !! I have no idea what it is or who made it. It is very heavy and has a small hole in the top or bottom which ever way it goes ? The rim is finely polished, it measures approx 4'' high.......any ideas on what it is and who might have made would be very much appreciated... :)

thanks for that Stew .... like you I paid very little for this (£2.50) and at least I have the pleasure of going back to the chap who sold it me next week and telling him what it is...he had no idea and had it upside down on the stall, and was quite baffled by it. I have even found a company to supply me a new wick and metal collar so I can use it ....and its a brilliant conversation piece on the coffee table...smiles all round ;D
