Hello
I wonder if anyone can help with the ID of these 2 please?
Thanks in advance.
-
Hi there
The first one looks like Walther glass (German made) whilst the second one is Davidson (English made). Hope others can confirm.
cheers..Brenton

I suspected Davidson on the second but Walther was a nice surprise, as I have a Greta vase which I really like.
I wonder if there is any way that the operators of this website could publish old manufacturer's catalogues on the site (unless they do and I haven't found them) because it seems like those who have them are selling them on ebay. I fancy buying one and then making it public.
Thanks for your suggestions!
Stu.

The green one isn't Walther; it's still an unknown on Pamela's site and I'm sure she would have relabelled if she knows

Joined only yesterday and I love this website. I am home.

Oops, third link should have been http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/schalen/schalen_unbekannt.html

We aren't able to publish catalogues on here, but we do have members who have some. Pamela has loads on her site here: http://www.glas-musterbuch.de and we have lots of images and some ads etc on our own GlassGallery here: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/ and if you check out our members' website forum you'll find lots more of our members' goodies: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/board,32.0.html. Also check out the signatures below members' posts or the little round world symbol under their name as those also give you more links to their sites - many of which have loads of info too. Happy trawling! :)

Thank you very much!
...now I just need to hire someone to live my life because this is becoming seriously addictive...
;)

BTW Pamela bought this green bowl from a lady in Great Britain ...
-
Oh no!! The plot thickens!
I really like the way that the base is part of the bowl's internal pattern - so clever!
It's a different colour green to my Bagley items. I wonder if we'll ever know?
Thanks to everyone here for help so far.

I think it's Czech; they are common here but don't strike me as being made here. We weren't very hot on making Art Deco glass designs, although plenty were imported from Czechoslovakia and elsewhere

Mods - these have both been ID'd now. Green one is Niemen.
-
See here (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,29610.msg160401.html#msg160401) and here (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,30083.0.html)
Not sure it's a positive ID though. Steven seems unsure

It seems to be one of those frustrating instances where very similar pieces were made by different companies. That second bowl (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,30083.0.html) is quite different, most obviously in the handles, but also the details of the pattern.
-
For balance, should there not also be a link to the ID'd Niemen at Presglass?
I will leave this to your better judgement, Mods.
