I've run into a few of these over the years & I swear ever one has had damage, either the beak, head comb or tail & finally I found one intact. Ran through Anita's Zoo, but couldn't locate a Peacock (or whatever this is) so was wondering if anyone had any ideas. 16" height, a little bottom wear. Ken

Hi Ken, :hi: I have always called these 'Birds of Paradise'.

That is really beautiful Ohio...if you don't want it, I will gladly take it off your hands... ;D

Ken, your bird is most welcome in the zoo. It's an Alfredo Barbini bird. I've always seen them called birds of paradise, but I don't know if it is the real name. These birds were made c. 1960 for Weil Ceramics & Glass. If you would like to add it to the zoo, just send me a picture and your full name. The picture you show here is fine.

BTW, your bird looks like the same color of green as the Barbini deer at https://sites.google.com/site/muranozoo/mammals-3. The deer was also made for Weil.
