Glass / Empoli Opaline Vase
« Last post by NevB on May 09, 2024, 02:23:36 PM »
I'm pretty sure this was made by the Empoli company whose labels have been found on other pieces with an LG mark. I think someone has added the Murano label and the rather curious plaque which is a piece of red baize, surrounded by a gilt chain and with a plastic head on top. I think I will try to remove it somehow although it is well stuck down.

Glass / Curious thrift find, Polish?
« Last post by Zender on May 09, 2024, 11:14:07 AM »
This was the only marked piece of glass in the entire thrift store.. if we ignore the 20 euro Kosta Boda snow ball...
No idea what this piece is, but it has something.

Bottom is marked, but searching on Unikat gave me no hits. A google lens search gave me one almost identical vase which was mentioned as "Unica". Well, it's clearly not a unique vase at least.
Payed a grand total of 8 euro's for it, on a gamble. Worst case I have a hand blown, worthless jug without any chips or cracks.

Hi Norman,

A little closer to home, I think it may be WMF by Walter Dexel....

Hope this helps.

Glass Trinket Sets / Mystery Set #32 in Pink.
« Last post by theElench on May 07, 2024, 12:31:29 PM »
I notice you haven't yet got a photo of this set in pink so here are a couple of my part set.  As always you're welcome to use them on GTS.

Don't know if you're still noting measurements of pieces ?  If you are:

The tray is 29cms x 20.5cms.
The bowls are both 9cms in diameter point to point.

Glass / Re: Unmarked uranium dish

This could very well be! The shade of yellow in the glass and the general shape/feel/expression seems to be the same.

Unless someone comes with a totally different idea, I'd say it is indeed Vallerysthal Art Glass. Now to read up on that maker, I never heard of them before.

Here the image from the provided link, for comparison purposes. Seems to be an exact match.

A bit more searching showed up this French forum where a very similar item is searched for, but it's in clear glass:
