Post by: NevB on May 31, 2022, 02:52:30 PM
This has the original Nuutajärvi 1793 Made in Finland label and is etch marked O.Toikka, Nuutajärvi and NPL? It is 6.5x4.5cm. and in the "Golden Crested Kinglet" pattern shown here, row 5:

Lovely, I do like Mr T birds, a very successful range and given such a contained subject still plenty of variety. Gotta love those owls...

Would guess that the last bit of the engraving is Notsjo, somewhat squeezed in maybe.

Thanks John, it is a lovely little piece, I also have one of his "Kastehelmi" dishes. I bought it in an antiques arcade and although they knew it was signed and labelled they didn't put much value on it  ;D. I see one or two of the other birds are etched with with letters dedicating them to particular organisations but I can't find what NPL stands for anywhere.

The Golden Crested Kinglet or Hippiäinen is actually what we call the Goldcrest, which would explain why it's so small.
