Title: Heavy Clear Glass.......(cat maybe) ?? - ID = Livio Seguso
Post by: antiquerose123 on March 01, 2008, 06:34:02 AM
Hi....I have this FAT CAT, (I think - since it has a tail).  The slant eyes remind me of the eyes from other Murano cats I have seen.  Anyone have any ideas of this, and year made.  Very heavy thing.

Any info appreciated.  TIA  :)

Or maybe this is an Owl, with what is suppose to be a branch by its body -- I dunno.  :spls: :spls:

Cat (?) or Owl (?)  :-\

Not seen him before Rose, but I bet Frank would like pictures of him for the Glass Zoo. :)

If Frank would like for his Zoo, just have him contact me, as I see no problem.....

Does he collect all types....as I think he may have wanted those little bird swizzle sticks too....(etc).  Where is the link for the ZOO...Thxs. :)

Yes Frank welcomes pics of all animals... the Glass Zoo is here: www.glasszoo.info  8)

BTW I'm moving this to Glass as you'll probably get a better response to it there. :)

Oh...Ok Anne --

I just thought that this was so much in the style of SEGUSO'S cat designs.....that it was posted in the right place, but then what do I know.  :spls2: :spls2:

there are quite a number of candidates for clear crystal figurines. To name but a few:
Nachtmann (Germany)
Princess House (also made by Nachtmann)
Irena (Poland)
Goebel (Germany)
Villeroy & Boch (Germany)
Val St. Lambert (Belgium)
Hadeland (Norway)
and any number of glass houses in Sweden.
I would not think your felix domesticus has ever been to Italy.

I think the jury was out as to cat or owl :)

Rose, any ID request (except for a paperweight) is OK in GLASS regardless of where it may be from as GLASS is an identification forum, once confirmed as Scandi or Murano it can be moved over for more discussion as the other forums are discussion forums. Hope this clarifies why it was moved. :)

Hi there ALL -

Been SO, SO busy here with so much stuff going on, but I still been checking up on ya, and as always *rooting* around when I have spare time.

I just found (10 seconds ago) this E-bay item:    :st: Click here by Santa --lol   (http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ART-GLASS-TEARDROP-MOUSE-PAPERWEIGHT-FIGURINE_W0QQitemZ270283010717QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3eee1f729d)

 Still a Joker here....lol.

They Kinda look similar to the one I have posted here.....Kinda, sort of ???? What do you think?  We are no wiser, but at least maybe I finally found another item by the same company -- whomever that (still) may be..

Defintely no relation - there is quite a difference in quality. I think the mousebear is Chinese.

Judging from the tail, eyes, and nose, your critter is a cat. It is made in the spirit of the cats made by many companies in Italy (and elsewhere in the world). It doesn't matter so much where it is from beyond satisfying the curiosity. It could be from anywhere.

LOL ..... I guess back in 2008 I was kinda on the RIGHT TRACK, so this is Murano and can go back to that Murano file as it is Giovanni attributed it to Livio Seguso in the year of 2023.  LOL
