Title: victorian? paperweight id. if poss.

hi
i found this whilst going through some old stuff i have, car boot buy i seem to remember, forgot all about it.
it's been ground and re-polished at some point and has plenty of wear, bruises etc..
measures 2" diameter.
any help with id. would be appreciated.

Bohemian I think, possibly Thüringen.

thanks, i'll investigate some more. seems odd that they missed out one of the outer red and yellow canes, looks a bit unbalanced.

The swirl cushion of white threads is certainly a feature seen in many weights attributed to Thuringia. Many of the general Bohemian weights show unbalanced features and can also include canes of different structure or colours in an otherwise consistent pattern. They were gift weights, not thought in those days to become "collectibles".

All the photos for that exhibition were taken by me in not-so-easy conditions (directly through the tops or sides of the display cabinets) so many images are not as clear as I would prefer and there are usually no side or base views.
