I think the jug Rosie is remembering is possibly by Sherdley Glass and was perhaps sold at Woolworths. You can't move for them round here.Well, it was Government Issue Christine, for the Overseas Food Corporation, so we wouldn't expect luxury. We had Tumblers and sundae dishes as well, so there's posh!! :sun:.
Ah, my Peill & Putzler display is up in time before the thread dies a natural death :)
Astrid
m, the ducks are Leerdam, and are part of my collection....I have several of these, the ducklings and ellies, and also the sausage dogs. I am still looking for an affordable deer, owl and fish.....even though I don't 'do' fish!
Thanks to this thread I've actually moved a few pieces of my glass to the bathroom, where previously there was none (except for the stained glass windows) ;D
Astrid, your displays always look so fresh, clean and uncluttered....
Astrid, I'm curious... how long have you been making themed glass displays by your front window sill? How and when do you decide which theme will be next? And have you ever repeated a theme? Ah, so many questions...
I particularly like the small vases and the two Pwts near the large amber vase - who made them.Ross, the two paperweights are by Siddy Langley. Which small vases did you mean? The two on each side of the Amber Schmetterling are Mdina 'pulled ears' vases - I love that name! ;D
So here comes the Kosta Boda themed display.
And that really is enough from me :wsh:No Leni, enough is NEVER enough.....more please from everyone...this is the weather for photographing glass....sunshine!!
The "vase" on the right of Leni's unusual picture piece is not a vase Paul, - it's a "Spectrum" sculpture by Nikki Williams - Kinkiglass. I suspect the piece on the left is our Adam Aaronson.50% for you, Sue ;) Yes, the sculpture is Nikki Williams of Kinki Glass, and the blue plate is Allister Malcolm, but the vase on the left isn't Adam's, it's by Michele Luzoro. And the horsey vase is by Ed and Margaret Burke - it's blown by Ed, and the dark overlay is cut back to the coloured glass by Margaret!
I want to know what the picture piece is, Leni, and why I've not seen it before! :-*
The horsey vase is I believe, Malcolm Sutcliffe, and the blue plate is by Allister Malcolm.
(how'm I doing Leni?)
I just hope nobody was insulted in any way! :thud:Michele Luzoro might be ..... she's French! :24:
Christine; You mean with Indiana a State of the United States of America, or?
Lovely, lovely collection, Rosie :hiclp: :kissy: Love those ducks and other animals! I especially like the brown 'bunny' He looks more like a hare than a rabbit to me - don't forget that the Easter (should be Oestre) 'bunny' :anb: was actually a hare! (http://www.websmileys.com/sm/animal/1.gif)
Anik, wouldn't those have fit quite nicely in your Ząbkowice midget vase? :)
I like to use my vases (and ashtrays :sm:) for their intended purpose; but I have to admit that some vases just wouldn't look good with flowers in them...
Ummmmmmmm...the D*** word!!!! :o SUZY!!!! >:D
ooooh - we nearly got a shot of you in there as a bonus!
Thanks for showing us all your lovely stuff - :rah:
and I'm glad you left the teaset in the loft - sounds awful!
So pretty and feminine, what a lovely collection dinklepip...and there is the little Hush Baby crib like the one we are trying to identify for AnnEB and you.
I wanna see the Tea Set!!!!! :thud: Get the loft ladder out!!
Rosie. :sun:
Ooooh! :hiclp: :girlcheer: All those shelves full of glass! :rah: I love the 'more is more' look  :24:
Do you know the maker of the turquoise opalescent (uranium?) flower which is half out of the picture on the right of this shot? I've got a similar one, but I've not seen them in turquoise blue before! http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b47/cookiepops/DSCF21931.jpg
I love the whole of this shelf, BTW - no, I love the whole of this cabinet! :D

ooooooooooooooo my turn to show off ;D ;D ;D. Have no room in my cabinet now and it's all hunched up :). If only you could see the stunning Victorian Salviati handmade and hand enamelled teaset in original box I have in the loft you would dribble :24:
:pb:
I thought the teaset was a figment of your imagination!
Would you like a bib antiquerose :24: :24:
......I love the green/clear ice type bowl - is it Humppila?Yes, m, the bowl is Tauno Wirkkala for Humppila and of a much more rare colour. The usual brown/clear is something that was a little "too popular" by the time, 70s, and they are all around available now. Nobody wants them, rather not even to see them! ;D
......
.........
I love seeing everyone's stuff on here... the collections are as interesting and as varied as the personalities...... Every time I look through this thread it puts a smile on my face.....
Craig
oops just seen Keiths pic..... that's just what I mean.... In his case black is purple.... :spls:Of course, purple is the new black you know!! :sun:
one daughter refers to me as "crazy glass lady", I just remind her she carries my genes..........
I try very hard - not always successfully - to keep the glass under control. I love to be surrounded with "my treasures" so I can see them around me and handle them.... However not every member of the household has such a high tolerance of glass cluttering up every available space...
Canadian women are wonderful.
Been told not to post these unless I d----d first so I did as ordered, more mixed up stuff from everywhere....
Hello Helen,I've a number of these some might be candle holders others are a little large,I don't think it's WF's but I do get things wrong sometimes, well quite a few times :pb: :wsh: here's a few more....Thanks for the picture Keith and the info. I'm really enjoying the thrill of identifying new acquisitions - I'd better keep trying!
I'm assuming the green stemmy bit on the Kralik is uranium, if so I'll have it and the Chalet please ;D
Here's my smokey charcoal Schmetterling :)
resizing pictures
I use "Image Resizer" (Resize your image files with one simple right-click).
for XP: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-xp
for Vista/Windows 7, google: windows Image Resizer clone
and the last ones for now....

I also heard that amethyst colour also exist, but have never seen one example before.
What a lot of useful advice and information about resizing...I will try some and see if I can do it too.....my way is a bit tedious!
Thought you might like to see my fox collection whilst I am here (but Rosie, you NEVER log off!!). The newest one is an M. Janku one, signed with a label as well, and is neodymium glass. :)
Oh and who was it said they liked Chris Dodds and had one of his cats on their desk??? Well here are some of his pussy cats in the sunshine. :sun:
It looks beautiful. I have not seen this one before, but it resembles the big round i have in one of my pictures. Mine has bubbles in it though.....
I have yet to find some litterature about Strömbergshyttan so I can find out the years and makers of the different pieces I pick up.
First picture (left side), from left to right:
2. Sweden, Kumela, Kai Blomqvist
Oh Ingela, they really are very very beautiful.....and I love the way you have grouped them so tastefully....especially the cold winter theme with the tree....
Hasn't this been the most wonderful thread ever on the GMB.....
Hi Astrid,
It's Finland, Kumela, Kaj Blomqvist
@Astrid, I think #5 is Harzkristall Derenburg if my memory serves me right.... :)
Does your vase have both - shiny and matt lenses?
