Title: Is this Greener?
Post by: Tigerchips on March 11, 2007, 11:39:49 AM
This looks like the pattern that was registered on the 8th June 1878, reg 322393.

There are no registration marks or anything, however, there are some similar pattered items on this site.

So could it be Greener please?

Thank's, Tony.

No, it's browner. Or amberer.

Never mock anyone who is clearly an expert in clear pressed glass dressing table sets.  :P

TC — I've never been happy about attributing this one, so always take the easy option — I don't buy it.   Rather like those nearly Sowerby tall 'sticks, never quite Sowerby colours.

Cathy — Brilliant.   How long have you been waiting?    Reminds me of that weather forecast:-

"Tomorrow will be muggy.   Followed by tuggy, weggy, thuggy, friggy, saggy and suggy."

I'm very, very sorry.  ;D It was probably a joke told in some form to the very first Greener and ad nauseam ever since.  ;D

I have so much pressed glass in my collection but....

...the glass is always greener on the other side of the fence...

...Oh dear.  ::)
