It looks fairly Chinese to my untutored eye, but would you like this post moved to the Murano board?

This is a very new piece, mass produced.
Sorry to say, but you can find them on Ebay everyday.

Hi .. thanks for your info.. a few things concern me about the piece, I go to dozens of antique and collector fairs every year l have never seen one of these before. I have had the piece since early January and have searched ebay every week using murano pelican in search box and have never come across the same piece as this.. could you post me a web address where I can find one please. I would say it was Chinese rather than Murano. There is also a Chinese cat that has swallowed a goldfish that looks very similar

I had that cat!  It got broken in the post sadly, despite being wrapped in enough bubble wrap to enclose Tuthanhkamun...definitely Chinese, and must have had a flaw in the side of its head too, to shear off the way it did.

got a picture of it somewhere, I'll pop it here when I find it.

Here's 1, although a little different, still new and mass produced.

I have an actual vintage piece that I will post so you can see the difference.

Do I take it that you are saying these are mass produced in Murano, Javier?  It's just that everyone seems to think "mass produced = Chinese" ::)

Sorry it took a while, but here's the old Pelican I was talking about.
It is actualy signed Barbini, Salviati, Venezia 1952. The piece is huge at almost 11" tall.

Unfortunately, the seller to this piece sold it for a "friend" and never actualy even touched the piece. After saying it was in mint condition, and even after me asking him about condition, I got it and it has the entire back of the bird cracked and could fall off at any time. Of course I ended up eating the entire cost since neither the seller or owner wanted to take any responsability for what they sold. To everyone out there please be careful and asked every single question you can think of, because that is what sellers are now doing on Ebay. Just selling from photos as a 3rd party, and not taking any responsability.
