Hi,
The above piece has a Murano sticker on it ... looks chinese to me... anybody care to continue my frustrating education with paperweights?

You got it right. That's a Chinese weight.

Most of what is called Murano on eBay is Chinese. When I put 'paperweight' in a search in Italian Glass, I get maybe one genuine Murano in ten pages of Chinese. I also see lots of Chinese stuff with Murano stickers. It's almost not worth the effort to look.
