Title: Pressed glass Blackpool ashtray, no it's not what you're thinking, ha!
Post by: Tigerchips on April 01, 2007, 12:01:18 AM
There's a cheap tatty peice of resin stuck on top of this ashtray trying to look like it belongs there.

Do I really care who made this ashtray? Unfortunelty, yes, and it really worries me.  ;D

Actually, it's not half bad, I quite like it.  8)

So then, any clues as to who made this ashtray please?

Thanks, Tuts.

The bit of resin should help to at least date it. Is it Resin?

Same kind of stuff as Border Fine Arts and Country Artists. It came out of a box full of old things (1970-80's perhaps) and the glass was a dirty brown colour before I cleaned it. It was probably held in a smoke filled room for a lot of years.

The ashtray looks very familiar, not sure it it is Bormioli or Arques or St. Helens - but certainly mass produced.
