Screen-printed tumblers: Minex, Warsaw: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330104576453 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330104576453)
I have a very similar set which I bought hoping they were Sherdley/ Ravenhead (they're actually quite a bit stubbier in shape).

Thanks Heidi, that's most interesting! We just need to determine whether Minex is a company name, or brand name.

SCOPE OF ACTIVITY
The Company's line of business is the export of household glassware, crystal glass, table porcelain, heatresistant glass, building glass, glass beads, natural stone and refractories as well as the import of raw materials and products for the glassmaking, ceramic, and iron and steel industries.
THE COMPANY'S HISTORY
MINEX was established on July 1, 1949 as a state-owned enterprise specialising in the export of building materials, mineral raw materials, glass and ceramics.
In February 1983, following the changes which took place in Poland's economy and foreign trade, the enterprise was converted into a commercial company - MINEX CEI Sp. z o.o. (MINEX Export-Import Co. Ltd.) Besides the State Treasury, the Company's shareholders were major domestic manufacturers of export goods, buyers of import and forwarding firms.
The business strategy adopted by the Company resulted in a further conversion into a joint stock company which took place on November 30, 1995.
Among the Company's shareholders are glass and ceramic producers.

Doesn't look as if the company has ever been involved in manufacturing, just import-export. I've tried variations on Walpole glass Poland, but no joy, so I think that's probably just the pattern name.

For the benefit of posterity, here's one of the glasses I have, presumed to be Polish exported by Minex:

Thanks Heidi. I've split this from the 'list' topic so others can comment.
Naturally, if Minex were only a distributor, it would be interesting to find out who made the tumblers. I suspect, though, they did perform the silk-screen printing.

Hi,
Minex were solely an export company, with the same type of remit regarding glass as Glassexport, Minex would not have been involved in the decoration of the tumblers.Known Polish works for whom they were exporters include Jozefina huta, Zawiercie and Violetta.
