Title: Golden clover vase
Post by: Ivo on April 09, 2007, 02:37:28 PM
Small vase with enameled clover leaf decoration. The stems and flowers are done in gold. The sides are panel cut, the section is square.

I'm thinking Czech or Silesian (Heckert) - can anyone confirm? Could also be French, of course....

Interesting that one leaf has four leaflets. Is a four-leaved clover lucky everywhere or just in the UK?

I know that the lucky aspect is present in Germany, Holland and France, so it may well be universal.
