I have a set of what look like Davidson Bridge Ashtrays not 100% sure as they look quite new or just very well looked after , they are in a pale geen, they measure between 3.5 and 4 inches

Hi Tony

Yes I did look at the set on Chris and Vals site, but I could still not confirm from there picture if they are the same or only very similar and I do not know if they were made in non cloud glass , I would have thought that they were

Going by the cloud ones I have, I'd say yes - assuming the moulds were not sold on... The style, shape, handle all look the same and the 'spade' one I have measures precisely 11.9cm long and 9.1cm across, if this helps. Davidson did two sizes though!

However, it would be best to wait for Chris to give the definitive answer on these.

Are the top edges ground flat and polished?

In that case they are almost certainly made by Davidson's "stamper" process.  NB that is a local, slang word for what is better called a free flush process.  It's not easy to describe but I'll have a go if anyone is genuinely interested.  However, I think I may have attempted to do that before, either by private email or on here so if anyone can give me a ref it would save me time and possibly you folks from a boring repetition.

Yes, Anne, many thanks.  Anyone wanting a cure for insomnia can look it up.  Thank goodness I didn't start writing it all over again!
