Hi,
I bought these well over 10 years ago and have kept an eye out for something similar ever since. Of course I always thought they were Murano..but Im not 100% sure now.
They are hand done and are similar but not identical. The finish is mother of Pearl and Ive always called them that. The outer amberish gold colour is thick and casing the white pearl.
9 and 10cm in height..18 and 19cm in width..heavy and stunning in any light. Ive yet to see anything similar and if they arent Murano...someone feel free to move the post :)
Any info greatly appreciated.

Lovely iridescence on those pieces, and most probably Murano. I would not call those "Mother of Pearl" however, as that term refers to a specific type of 19th ct. satinated glass type, sometimes abbreviated to MOP.

On ceramics this "look" is called oyster lustre.
I don't know if this would also be the right term on glass?

Thanks,
So does anyone have anything similar or know of the correct term for the finish on these bowls. MOP was just the immediate thought that came to me :) Iridescent and lustre also..but surely they must have a specific style/type for this exterior in Murano.

I have seen this type of glass called "pearlescent" by some sellers. I don't know if it is an official term or just a way of saying the finish looks like iridized pearls. The bowls are beautiful and look like Murano to me.
