ZBS jumps to mind. Is it Neodymium?

This vase is blue Ivo, would'n't Neodymium glass have had a more amethyst tone? Are you suggesting it could be Moser?
Thanks,

I am suggesting it is ZBS.

I am suggesting it is ZBS.
Thanks Ivo,
Can you possibly direct me to a ZBS website that may show similar pieces, please?, as ZBS is not a maker that is familiar to me.

Try it and see if it changes colour under a fluorescent light

Thanks Nic,
Nothing similar on there that I can see I'm afraid.
I can only find beads on Ivo's suggested website. Is there a more relevant link there that I might have missed Ivo?
Have you actually seen a vase with a similar shape & colour by ZBS Ivo. On what evidence do you base your suggestion. I wan't to list this item on Ebay and don't wan't to include a Company name without first being fairly sure of my facts. I'd rather just add it to my own collection if I can find room!. I really do like it, it reminds me of a Manta Ray.
Just tried it under flourescent and the kingfisher type colour looks just the same. Also no change under black light.
Cheers,

Hi Bryn,
Take a look here (http://rikaro.com.au/catalogue.htm). It is an importers catalogue, but it shows a variety of ZBS and Czech pieces.

Hey, Thanks Della,
Now these are similar, in fact i can see 2 others that were discribed in a recent fair as being Murano with huge price tags , it really is a minefield out there. :o ::)
The vase I have has some light signs of base wear so could well be an earlier version of the Ricaro vases.
Lots of info on here Della, I'll put this amoungst my favourites for future reference, Brilliant! ;D
Much Obliged to you all.
Cheers,

Hi,
This is a very old inconclusive mystery item listing of mine that I think I may have solved.
I have discovered an identical, albeit different colour, vase listed under Czechoslovakian glass on the The Studio Glass Merchant website. The vase is discribed as being an Alexandrit vase by Miloslav Klinger for Zelezny Brod.
Glad that's sorted ::).
Bryn.

Hi friends,
Hi Della, all the best for next New year to you and to all, indeed.
I am sure that this piece is Czechoslovakian, I am not so sute that it is ZBS, looks simmilar to Mstisov pieces designed by Zemek or Machovska.
Let me check pape resources. Internet dives not good anwers now.

Single colour could suggest ZBS, and Zemek is only recorded as working for ZBS 1951-1954, with nothing shown in Masin's Zemek publication (posthumously) for NCVU in 1963, showing anything in this style, and nothing either in Raban's Modern Bohemian Glass of the same year. Is Machovska known to have worked for ZBS? As is becoming very obvious, there is often an overlap and similarity of designs between factories, and authorship is a particularly thorny issue. Klinger was a master in these very organic forms, though to suggest all ZBS items of the period were his designs would also be irresponsible.
Bryn, would you please put up a link to the web-site you mentioned?
Thanks,
M

Hi Marcus,
Here's the link you require. Check out the Czechoslavakian glass section.

Whilst Mark Hill and I are both aware of the difficulties of working with CGR, I suggest that there is little wrong with a tentative (ie, no confirming factory paperwork) attribution to Klinger and ZBS.

Many Thanks Marcus, and everyone else who contributed
