Title: Deep ruby vase - optic ribbing ID = Reijmyre
Post by: Chris Harrison on May 02, 2007, 04:25:13 PM
I can't work this one out.
6" / 15cm tall.
Heavy.  A self-coloured deep ruby. Has optic ribbing inside and out, with a slight twist at the top where the rim has been worked.

Circular cross-section at the base.  Has a polished punty with good, age-related wear.

Oval section at the rim.  4.25" x 3.25"

I'm sure it isn't Whitefriars, and isn't in any of the Webb or other Stourbridge books that I have.
Could it be Czech?  Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Chris

Reijmyre was big on well finished Selenium red items, designer usually Monika Bratt. But also WMF and a few of the lesser known Germans have used this colour in the 60s.

Is it anything like this?

It has a 'Reijmyre 1810 R Sweden' sticker. The vase is squashed and ribbed. Mine's taller though.

Oops, sorry folks.  I didn't mean to diss you, just didn't see these replies for some reason.  I must have been away (mentally, at least...)

Yes, my vase is like TC's (bearing in mind photographic vagaries), and definitely like this one:

Mystery solved.  Thanks for the sage advice.
