Title: Venini Bowl
Post by: Nancy128 on May 07, 2007, 01:40:30 PM
This looks like it's a Carlo Scarpa piece, but in looking at his earlier pieces I don't see a bowl with controlled bubbles.  Is this some of his earlier or later works?  Is this even a Scarpa piece? TIA

This is "sommerso a bollicine" a Scarpa pattern, the form can only be attributed without knowing exact measurments. The stamp indicates an execution that is near the time of its design (Ca. 1940).
It is sadly not a very rare piece.  :-\

Kind regards

Thanks for the reply.  It's funny that I get a reply today when my auction ended a few hours ago.  It did pretty well!!  :D  The funny part is that its going back to Italy to it's new owner!!

They know their glass in Italy and prices are skyhigh so it is not really surprising.
