Title: Diamond Vase, Czech?
Post by: Tigerchips on May 16, 2007, 11:54:31 PM
This isn't my vase, it's Mumsies. She wanted it for the kitchen window. Of course, as soon as I saw it I nicked it to find out the maker. In the end, I lost, so here it is. I'll be giving it back as it's badly chipped.

It's not cut glass.  ;)

Hi Tony - your vase looks as if it could be the pattern that has been called Royal Diamonds by Carnival collectors (the pattern is known iridised, but I have not seen this vase shape iridised...yet). I can't tell for certain from your photos, but you should be able to "make that call".

You can see some other shapes in this pattern here:

If you'd like to read the rest of this article that gives the background, and explains the Czech possibility, here's page 1.

Thank you Glen, I think that's the one. I'll have to look out for one with a makers sticker on it.  :)

Never thought I'd have royal diamonds in my house.  ;D
