Hi Lynne,
Probably Portieux, pattern number 3891, colour "Celeste", and in the 1894 Portieux catalogue. ( info courtesy Seigmar Geiselberger's Pressglas-Korrespondenz website).
Regards,
Marcus

Thank you so much Marcus, I thought it might be Portieux but I wasn't sure... I do wish I could speak/read German so I could find my way around the Pressglas site  :'(

Lynne and Marcus

I have this same jug in milk glass, I was told some years back the maker is Portieux ( how do you pronounce it? ) and the pattern is Louis XV from a 1930 cat is my info wrong or did the firm reissue this piece.

Hi Tony,
Probably never went out of production, and acquired a name as a marketing ploy. This seems to have been a change which arrived in the inter war period.

Marcus

Hi, lovely little jug! You can get all the info on the Presglass site in English, there is an option on the home page, I'd be lost without it. Cheers, Gill

Hi Gill - when I click on the English link, I just get a description of how to search in English, but all the various articles are still in German, so I still don't know what they say.  I tried putting one into Google once, but just got Googlydegook, so it was not especially helpful  :'(.

Am I missing another link there?

I exaggerate a little of course, (for dramatic effect I expect  ::), I can of course find the names, and look at the pictures.  Except of course, I need to know what names to look for before I start, as I can't look for keywords as I would in English.  I don't expect Siegmar Geiselberger to change his site, btw, so please don't anyone even slightly think that - I am very very grateful that the resource exists in any form whatever!  I just wish I had more German.....
