I bought a bowl today that I was sure was a Walther Berlin Bowl, have since identified it on your site as Abel, Yugoslavia, do you know, were these made at about the same time as the Walther ones and were they supposed to be a copy? Many thanks again for your excellent site, Gill

had guests tonight for dinner, much enjoyed that, as it was for the first time since long :D
Gill, does yours also bear a mark of a 5angled star and a wineglass please? photo would help a lot :D
This Berlin bowl is a mystery.
Gill, the Berlin/Walther mould was obviously sold to Zagreb STS and we presume they created a new base and a (crimp? right word?) too.
My blue one is the definite proof http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/tafelaufsaetze/02854.html

{Moderator: Edited in accordance with board guidelines} Thank you, that's ok with me, but how else can I show Gill the third variety, please? :-\

Hi Pamela, All that was removed was the comment addressed to Peter - nothing else.

This is my further collection of '5angled star and a wineglass' - thus same birdies as yours, Sue - thank you for sharing ;)
How about yours, Gill, is it marked? Inside or at the base outside? Could also be very difficult to find next to the stand under the base ::)
Regarding the other Berlin bowl I'am still awaiting to come in: it has fishes around the rim. Sorry I cannot link to anything.

Hi Pam and Sue, thankyou both, Yes my bowl does have this mark, both on the bowl in the base and on the plinth. I will take some pics as soon as I get a minute but basically it's just the same as yours pamela, same blue too. Interesting that the bowls you have both shown look very similar to other makers too, maybe they bought lots of moulds. Cheers, Gill

Here's some pics as promised, sorry you can't see the marks very well but they are there.
:)
