Title: Vintage lamp in imperfect condition
Post by: aa on June 03, 2007, 05:46:51 AM
One of the occupational hazards of being a glass maker is that people assume you can repair the impossible  :)

Does anyone know what this is? Would be much easier to get a new element if they are still made somewhere!

Thanks
 :)

Hi Adam,
Possibly something that Rapotinske glassworks might have made, or Valašské Meziříčí. It would probably be worth asking them.
Rapotinske: Hana Machalkova, english speaking contact:machalkova at sklarny.cz
Regards,
Marcus

Going by the size I would guess these to be architect designed special for a particular building. Are there no markings on the metal?

It is unlikely to have had the glass sourced outside the country of design and many glassworks are capable and did such work, Moncrieff's could have made them as indeed could most other glassworks.
