Title: Help w/ Mark On France glass plates - ID = Verrerie D'Alsace
Post by: michellescove on June 13, 2007, 04:42:25 PM
Hello,
I was guided here to see if anyone could help me figure out who made some glass plates that I have. They are a clear and frosted glass. The centers are marked with a slanted V A and a small D on top. And then marked France underneath.

I found the same marking on a site, but can't identify it without paying.

 Here are my photos:

Thanks so much for any info you may have,
Michelle

Hello Michelle,

Your plates are by Rene Lalique, 'vases' pattern. VDA mark is for Verrerie D'Alsace, used briefly on pieces produced at Lalique's Wingen-sur-Moder plant c1921-23. Very nice.
