Title: Opalescent Large Duck, Murano or Whitefriars?
Post by: Ohio on June 21, 2007, 11:28:18 PM
Evening (well it's evening in the US anyway) I picked up this Opalescent Duck today & am a bit puzzled. The bill looks more like a  Whitefriars product rather than Murano, but I'm a bit in the dark as to how to tell the differences. I know it looks blue & it is slightly blue, but it's Opalescent all the way & it reacts like crazy to black light exposure. It has decent size at 8 1/2" heigth & 6 1/2" length. Any assistance is most appreciated. Thanks, Ken

Hi Ken,
To the best of my knowledge, he is definitely not a Whitefriars duck.
This is a great site to visit to find out more about WF ducks: http://hometown.aol.co.uk/jillwainman/index.html

Looks like Murano or maybe even Czech?

Thanks Deltab & Tigerchips. I started looking at Murano Ducks & the triple tail is a Murano trait. I found a couple of early 50's Seguso Opalescent pieces that although not Ducks were a perfect match for color. I appreciate the help. Ken

Hi Ken,
Would you like a moderator to move this to the Murano forum? You might get more information there.
