Don't think I've seen this company before:

large conglomerate/ bottle plant not well known for own brand products.

Ivo, could this be Spiegelunion Flabeg who were known competitors to Chance? Their range was called 'Filigranglas' - I have an advert somewhere. Pity the label is incomplete :-\
-
I suppose you could ask them?

Thanks, I'll mail them. Just for the record:

However, the information I have is that Spiegelunion Flabeg was a much smaller concern which was eventually taken over by Pilkington and then became Flabeg - ironically they now have an office on the old site of Chance Brothers! Still involved making mirrors (spiegel) of all sorts.

I also found the advert (dated 1972) and have uploaded it to GG:

Hope all this helps! :D

sounds very much as if Heye sold Flabeg to Pilkington.
-
Good thought: quite possibly SU.F was a subsidiary of Heye. The takeover would have probably occured about 1980 in that case. I did contact Flabeg before but got no response, so I'll try again and post the result.

there are several HEYE glasses in my collection - but very little is known :(
-
forgot to link like always - sorry for that!

Thanks Pamela - they do appear to be a 'closed book'. But if you do ever come across any information about Spiegelunion Flabeg (Filigranglas), I would be most interested.
