I recently purchased this Orrefors vase. I find their numbering system confusing, and was wondering if someone can identify the designer (Palmquist?) and date of production. The info. on bottom is: "Orrefors. P. 2623. BS. C (or L or 7)2." The vase is nice and large, measures 7 3/4" (22 cm) tall.
Thanks,
Charles.

Hard to tell what letters are at the end. but the P denotes Palmqvist.
I'd think this is probably dual signed with glass artist and engraver's signature.
There is a good page for decoding Orrefors signatures here (http://www.xs4all.nl/~abel/Ofdecode.html)

P2623 was designed in 1940-41.
B5 would be the year of manufacture - 1948.
The last lettters denote the engraver, but I can't find them on the list (they should just be letters, no numbers).
