Title: Early (?) Ehrmer / Ehrner Kosta Stiped Vase
Post by: horochar on July 25, 2007, 12:24:11 PM
Can someone tell me the name of the series and the approximate date for this vase?  It's signed Kosta 47510 (?) A. Ehrmer.  I understand Anna Ehrmer began to work at Kosta in 1974; based on signature I'm assuming this is a pre-Boda-merger piece.  Is Ehrmer a well-regarded designer?  Are pieces from this series desirable?  (I don't think I overpaid at $85).  I really like the design and pattern, reminds me of Murano art pieces, e.g. Venini and Salviati, which I assume were an influence.  Any information or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles.

Hi Charles, it's Anna Erhner - she's probably best known for designing the Atoll range for Kosta Boda - those lovely swirly coloured glass bowls and votives.

Thanks!  Could you or someone else tell me, was the "Kosta" signature (as opposed to "Kosta Boda") used at any time after the merger, and if so, during approximately what time period?  I'm still interested in knowing the name of whatever series this piece represents, and when it would have been produced.

Sincerely,
Charles.
