Anyone have any info on this paperweight Any help would be great.
It says Triplex 1951

It's an early Whitefriars weight, made as a special commission for the Triplex glass company. There are a few about, although not many, and they fetch a little bit more than standard Whitefriars concentrics because they are early.
Both the canes and the weight itself were made by Frank Hill.

Like anything, it all depends who wants it, and whether more than one person want it at the same time! However, as a guide, Bob Hall has one for sale on his website at £255.

Good luck with the sale of this weight, now showing on eBay - I hope you do receive a fair price for it even though "the money side of it isn't important" (as stated in your 15 Aug response to one of my emails).

Thanks for providing a smaller image, which I have now viewed.
The weight was not made by Paul Ysart, but is a rare example from the Whitefriarrs factory. It is not known how many of these "Triplex" weights were made, but one source suggests that they were perhaps experimental items. With a date of 1951, they are sought after by collectors as they pre-date the first Whitefriars limited edition weights which were first produced in 1953.

Doesn't strike me as accurate at all; if anything its a bit insulting.
Don't people realise that when Kevh or anyone else gives freely of their time and expertise, it isn't because they're stupid and don't recognise that it may be used on ebay. Its because, amongst other things, they are trying to be helpful to someone who shares their interest in glass. Quoting their words without acknowledging where they came from is really ungrateful and a tremendous turnoff to the experts who come to this board. We at the GMB truly value people who answer other people's questions about glass. Without them where would we be?
So please please, if you use the information someone else gives you, acknowledge where it came from, either with their name or their website URL or our website (glassmessages.com) or at the very least "Glass Message Board".
And thank you so much to the majority of people, who do do this.

Perhaps I'd better put it on record that the information I gave about the weight, and particularly about it being made by Frank Hill, came from Ray Annenberg, ex Whitefriars glassblower.
I don't want or need anyone to mention my name, and I'm sure Ray doesn't care either. Surely just a brief reference to Glass Messages is enough?
