Title: Is this a Loetz piece ??
Post by: cmdg on August 14, 2007, 03:56:42 PM
Does anyone recognise this piece,it is just under 11" tall, green glass with irridescence, a rough pontil scar.It has a wrythen twist and ruffled top.Any advice, including possible age, maker and value will be greatly appreciated. It has good wear on the base edge,so possibly a late Victorian piece perhaps?.Thank you very much.I will probably be offering this piece for sell on the selling forum once I have identified it!it is in super condition.

Rough pontil is definitely a big point against Loetz (always polished or no pontil)

Also I don't recognise the finish or the exact shape as Loetz

I can't say definitely not loetz, but I'd go as far as: very very unlikely to be Loetz

Cheers
