Title: Martel Hand Wrought Art Glass
Post by: ladywillow1 on September 04, 2007, 05:34:30 PM
Good morning!  I'm new to this message board and am seeking some information.  We have three pieces of what appear to be pressed glass.  There is a paper label on one that is torn but I believe it says (said) Martel Hand Wrought Art Glass.  The vases are iridescent ruby flash with art deco nudes in relief which are clear. The bases are clear.  The shapes of the vases differ.  Can anyone give me any information about this manufacturer?  Am I missing a letter on the last name because it appears it could be so?  The label is black with gold lettering.  I thank you for your kind attention to my request.

Marcie

According to Ivo Haanstra's 'Glass Fact File A-Z' by Millers' Martel was a French company, c.1930, producing opalescent glass. Not sure how that fits into your own vase, but some photos would sure help! ;)
